1st full day, back to momma's hood

On our first full day, we headed to my mom's hometown, Bibiclat. I've had a lot of good memories there, everytime I visit. However, I usually go there with a lot of people I already know, but this time around there weren't to many, but I knew it was going to be great anyways. And it did turn out to be great(more on that later though). The main reason for us going was because there was going to be a family reunion, with the Lemence side of the family. Good times. We drove their early in the morning, got there at noon, said hi to everybody, helped setup the big day, ate a whole lot, and bonded with family. Life is great.

Back to my "roots"... DSLR version!

Finally I get to post some DSLR pictures from our stay back here in the Philippines. And by DSLR I mean pictures with my baby Nikon d300s, hahah. We left Thursday morning in Norway, and got there Friday morning Manila time. A rather safe trip, with an awesome travel partner. Momma's boy? Who cares...hah.

Up, up, and away!

When we landed I had my Godfather and Godmother from Norway, who was also on vacation there, to pick us up. Thanks! We went straight to RACKS for lunch, woaaah... they got so nice ribs! The meat just falls of the bone.. hah. My cousin Eileen told me to go there, and I'm tahnkful she suggested it. Very very nice. We ate a meal good for 10...hah. An awesome vacation start. After that we had to go to some errands before chilling at the Vera Cruz Melendrez residence in Sta. Rosa. Good times. Met some old friends there, and ate more. Great success!

The other day we celebrated the past year with Sole Service and our newest "family" members. Good times indeed. Ate at this really nice restaurant in Oslo called Arakataka, and then we headed to Tilt for some shuffleboard and some more drinks. Big ups to Day1 for hosting, and big ups to my fambam Sole Service! Sole who!? Sole CREW!

Great dinner, with great people.

Mmmmm... great food, very very nice. Only thing is that I eat to much. Gourmet servings aren't that big. Hah. Not complaining though, it was just so good that it left me craving for more.

Last Sunday I was rather happy to have a chill day. In the beginning of the day I met up with Deep Search, Sole Service and Club Apartment. Sounds hectic? Nah, we didn't really do to much, just kicked back. We got to see some sketches of the new Deep Search collection, got to see some new leather samples, and we also go to see a cool custom Deep Search shoe. Everything was pretty awesome. Can't wait till the next line comes out, these guys never rest. And by the looks of it, they will mos def get their work paid off! Btw.. those customs.. I need those too! Awesomeness.

Hah.. I know I'm late, but who cares. Finally posting some pictures from the last day of 2011, and the first hours of 2012. Swear 2011 has been so good to me, I'm so blessed. I'm not even going to ramble about all the good times, maybe you can just scroll through the blog, and you will see. But waaaa... its been crazy good! Thanks for everything, and thanks to everyone who participated in my year! Awesome awesome! Words can't describe how blessed and thankful I am.

We ended the year in great matter. First work, then church, then a nice dinner at my parents house, before heading to the apartment to celebrate on the roof with great friends and family. I like indeed. Check out the pictures:

Ah yeah. We are here now. Already done a lot, a lot of eating that is! Hah. The plane ride was all good, with nice movies(watched "Drive", "Moneyball", "Crazy, Stupid, Love" +++), no turbulence, the only sad part was that they didn't have cup noodles like they used to. Haha. Good times though, always! It feels good to be back... wish you guys could witness this with me!

I don't really know the difference, but I don't care. All I know is that the other day I made a sick pie/quiche with Margrethe. Awesomeness. Tried to copy the one shawty's mother makes for me everytime I visit Stavanger. Not as good, but really really close. Dang, quiche/pie is so good, can't wait to make another one..hah. Check it out:

Winter Wonderland @ Hyde Park

Got to admit that I didn't feel the Christmas spirit to much this year. However, after visiting the annual Winter Wonderland theme park, at Hyde Park in London, I must admit that X-mas took over.. heh. A huge parked filled with rides and all sorts of Christmas decorations, food, music, etc etc etc. You couldn't help but get excited about X-mas. Very very nice. Here are some pictures from our visit to Winter Wonderland.

During Margrethe and I's trip to London, we finally got to eat the legendary, Portuguese flame-grilled peri-peri chicken! Thanks Nnaka for taking us. Everybody I knew had hyped it up, but have no fear, it wasn't just a hype. It was soooooo goood! When we got to the place, there was actually a huge waiting line, but the waitress was kind enough to let us pass. Hah. Score! As soon as I got there I could already smell the delicious chicken(as I type this I'm getting hungry haha). But yeah.. you should go next time you have the chance. M&M in London

Yup, some weeks ago I went on a little Holiday trip with ze girl to London. I had only been there once, but I don't really remember to much. So it was the perfect vacation, an easy going trip in a new city with ze girl. I like, who wouldn't! We didn't really do to much the first night, because we arrived at night, basically we just got settled and ate..hah. The first full day was awesome though. The hotel was only walking distance from Oxford street so we headed there pretty early and just explored everywhere close to there. Shopping? A little bit at least.. hah. Good times. Thanks again shawty for a good day! Here are some pictures:

I really don't splurge on shopping anymore, I try to be smart and only buy what I really want. However, I actually did do some damage while I was in London with ze lady. Hah. They have a bunch of cool stores, and I had to get some items. Here are some of the one's I got(and remembered) to take photos of.

Supreme:

I was lucky. They actually had everything I wanted(and could afford) at the same time. The people there were mad chill as well. Big ups! Peter street is where it be!

Johnny Cupcakes:

Maybe my favorite store in London. Actually the whole Johnny Cupcakes movement is something I admire a lot. I just love how every store fully goes with the JC theme, and that they are all unique. When I grow up I wanna be a kidult like Johhny Cupcakes. Very nice. Stop by at Carnaby Street(and if you do, please tell me, maybe you could do a pickup haha)! The people who work there are fun and really helpful!

Below are two other stores that are worth checking out, BAPE and The Hideout. Cool stores with nice inventory for sure.

Other notable mentions, other stores that I didn't get to take photos of that are worth a visit; Size?, FOOT PATROL, Carhartt, Dover Street Market, the basement of Liberty etc etc etc.

London is nice, very nice!

Before boarding the flight back to Oslo from Stavanger, I got to chill with the homie Wai, Kevin and ze lady. Over a cup of coffee at Steam we got to catch up and exchange ambitions and plans for 2012. All I know is that there is no doubt that we will "make it count" in 2012. Very very nice! I can't wait!

An evening at Acne Studio Stavanger

I had a lot of fun during my visit to Stavanger the week before Christmas. One of the highlights of the trip was the invitation to the city's Acne Studio where they were having a launch for the first part of the new men's collection and such. The pieces were really nice, and that wasn't the only entertainment off the night. They had even hooked it up with drinks, cheese & biscuits, and a live jazz band. Good times. Big ups to Tonje for hooking it all up! Good job!

B A DUB S x JLH meeting.. "It was all a dreaaammm..."

Like I said 2011 was truly a great year. From the beginning to the end it was filled with surprises. A couple of months ago Lilia Gjerstad from the Norwegian brand JLH gave us (BAWS) and opportunity to collaborate with the brand on a little capsule collection. You already know that it was something that we had to do. So we sealed the deal, and after a meeting and some sessions fixing the prints we finally got our first samples the other day. Swear, I was so happy and excited. Being able to put and idea to life is soooo sick. And it has always been a dream of mine to walk around with self designed textiles.

So yeah, the other day we met up with Lilia at Majorstua early in the morning(so excited that the lack of sleep didn't mean anything hah), and got to check them out. Wawaweeee they look awesome, we have to do some adjustments before the actually release, but I'm more excited and motivated than ever! You already know that I've been wearing the samples, and its so cool to get all the positive feedback! Don't worry we will keep you updated on when it will be available. BAWS!!
